In the meantime enjoy & please re-follow my blog by typing your email in to the box on your right, seeing as I’ve changed my platform as well and will be redirecting my visitors from the WordPress site for now.

Dress for Less: Rag&Bone Talia V Neck Sweater

Screen Shot 2014-04-10 at 2.15.57 PM

I’ve been lusting over this gorgeous graphic Talia V-neck Sweater from Rag&Bone ever since I saw it on the runway. It’s been printed in every magazine since, and spotted on bloggers and celebrities. Its the new Kenzo Tiger Sweatshirt, but better.
For those of us who can’t afford to splurge on a four hundred dollar sweatshirt, I luckily found an alternative – the Daring V-Neck from Forever 21. Get it here for only $24 and own the trend of this season.

P.S. There are so many exciting things happening for RLNY soon; including new collabs with photographers (like this one, with the talented Maria Strycharz) and an entire redesign of the blog. Stay tuned for the debut! Can’t wait to share with you guys 🙂

Mellow days at Cafe Hawelka in Vienna, a traditional, old coffee house that breathes history. Its very vintage once you step inside, super cozy, dark, everything seems to be brown and made out of wood and the walls are covered in framed pictures. Very Viennese!

The Floral Chocker that Screams Spring

Lucky me got to jet back to Vienna for Spring break and soak up some legit summer sunshine. Featuring my little sis and Hong-Kong beauty Jess, I was strolling around in whites, tees and shorts. The weather couldn’t be any better and it sucks being back in sub-zero temperatures here in New York. I also stopped by a few of my favorite spots in Vienna for jewelry; Anna Inspiring Jewelry (who are opening a store in NYC soon) and the Swarovski Store (which always has the most beautiful guest-designer bracelets). Both definitely worth checking out if you haven’t already, along with Girls Dreams (also a jewelry boutique, one of my faves!) And when you’re ready to drop, pop in to the Juice Factory for a refreshing thirst-quencher, I suggest trying the Commander Cucumber.

The City Rush

Chanel Coat, Balenciaga City Bag, Zara checkered pants, Converse

The weekend before my trip back home to Vienna and the weekend that New York finally decided to share some Spring Sunshine. Despite it still being very chilly outside, I couldn’t help myself but throw on some converse and a light coat and stroll through Washington Square Park during my much needed study breaks. This weird weather roller coaster is sucking me in to a nostalgic funk, which I’m sure you can tell by my rather snug outfit and the faded (almost like they were shot on film) photographs.

Exam Survival Guide

Dark alleys, grim faces, deadlines. These have been my recent nightmares as midterms slowly creep up on us. Couple pointers I want to share with you guys from personal experience about staying on top of things;

1. We know some of us simply can’t go a weekend without dressing up and hitting the hottest club in town, even during exam time. We can’t help it. But blowfish and brode can. Skip the hangover, pop a brode hydration pill before your first drink and it will keep a balance of your body’s water and electrolytes – the next morning you’ll feel fresh as ever. Brode is quickly becoming a legend among NYC bartenders. Although, if you’ve already crossed over to the dark side and wake up thinking “I am never drinking again” , drink a blowfish. It’s a lemon-flavored fizzy tablet made up of caffeine and aspirin that will stop the pounding in your hungover head faster than you can imagine. It’s guaranteed the best remedy out there. Happy partying!

2. Quit the Starbucks – eat an apple instead. We all know coffee is unhealthy and apples contain fructose (a natural sugar), which will get you up on your feet and keep you going through out the day. It also moves slowly through the body, reaching areas where you may not wake up immediately. There’s no ‘crash’, shaky hands or a twitching eye either, which makes the benefits of eating an apple far outweigh those of coffee.

3. Don’t sweat it. Or maybe you should…Without doubt, most of us will have those sleepless nights filled with anxiety about our upcoming test or worrying about a deadline. Instead, hit the gym or go for a run  – besides boosting your serotonin levels it will get your brain functioning better and raise your creativity levels. Great for writing essays.

4. Distract yourself. Plan some downtime, but avoid Facebook at all costs. Facebook is the definition of aimless and endless procrastination. Give your brain a rest, get a bottle of good wine (or cheap wine, whichever tickles your fancy), invite your friends or boyfriend over and watch something like the Oscars. Which by the way are on tonight at 7pm, eastern time. Go LEO!

Good luck my lovelies!

Like a Pollock

Running around almost-rainy Vienna, super casual and comfortable in blue skinny jeans and this color-afro Topshop sweater jacket that I bought about 5 years ago. I was surprised to see it make it this far through hundreds of my closet-clean-outs. I try my best to hang on to statement pieces like this one. I love the touch of overboard-ness in texture and the Jackson Pollock vibe of it. I dressed up the look with my favorite and most worn out pair of black kitten heels and a crystal statement necklace (which is to die for!! don’t you think?).

What was supposed to be a stroll in the beautiful garden of Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna, manifested into a muddy trek after it started pouring down on us. Yes it was freezing – but I’ve always enjoyed the magnificence of this palace; the maze-like pathways, the trees cut to perfection, the Parisian quintessence you feel tingling down your spine as if at the Versailles…  So what immediately spoke to me when dressing for the occasion was nothing else, but Chanel. I paired my Chanel almost-high-thigh boots with a dark blue Boy Bag, channeling an edgy-er version of Parisian school-girl.

We managed to take few shots up front, but then retired quickly back to my car for some coffee in the city center of Vienna. I wish I could have shown you more of the palace. It’s a place to keep in mind when drafting your to-see list in Vienna.
